About La Pivoinerie D'Aoust
"We grow peonies and only peonies"

Spring
'Peonies with Tiarella cordifolia'

First a word about the name ...

The French word for peony is pivoine. A place where you find peonies could be called a pivoinerie.

My pivoinerie is located between the foot of Rigaud Mountain and the shore of Lac de deux montagnes in Hudson, Québec and is owned by myself, Lindsay D'Aoust.

'A few weeks later...'

In 1996, after working many years in the field of information technology, it was time for a change of career. We bought a wonderful piece of farmland and I began growing peonies!

A two acre field was tile drained, ditches cleaned and the field ploughed. I pored over peony catalogues for months before buying my first several hundred stock plants. These first peonies were planted in 1997 and we have had peonies in the field ever since.

Having been an avid gardener for many years, I'm always looking for a good source of plants. For my own garden, I like to buy directly from growers who care about quality and know their plants. The pivoinerie was created to meet my ideal of a plant supplier. I will only sell plants that I myself would be happy to receive.

My goals are simple. I work to provide:

- Top quality plant material;

- a wide and changing selection to choose from;

- excellent customer service.

Visits to the farm are unfortunately not possible but I am more than happy to answer questions about what might go well with what over the phone. Being interested in garden design, I have a wealth of information about ways to use peonies in a garden.

The following are a few pictures taken around the farm of the family, animals and flowers.
